The main research questions are the following: How and why can the flipped classroom in combination with drama be used in the educational process so that 21st century skills be cultivated using the two methodologies? Within the framework of the research, educational material was designed for the first and third stage of the flipped classroom (before and after class), while drama was utilized during the in–class activities. The results of the research confirm the effectiveness of the flipped classroom as a methodological tool for blended learning and drama as a methodology that can adequately support the flipped classroom. They also showed that the proposed mixed methodology can offer opportunities to develop 21st century skills, such as collaboration, communication, creative expression and critical thinking. Finally, the pupils have responded positively to both methodologies. However, reduced participation was observed in the after-class activities.
