Abstract

The aim of this study is the suitability of the morphological method of teaching Greek traditional dance within the framework of distance education. To this end, the characteristics and functions of distance education are first presented. Subsequently, the morphological method of teaching Greek traditional dance is analyzed in terms of its principles and requirements. Finally, the compatibility of this method with distance education is examined, with the aim of establishing it as an effective pedagogical proposal for the teaching of Greek traditional dance in distance learning environments. The findings indicate that the morphological method of teaching constitutes an appropriate approach to be applied in distance education, as it demonstrates a high degree of compatibility with it. On this basis, a comprehensive proposal emerges for the development of distance learning educational material, capable of supporting a holistic teaching of Greek traditional dance, while simultaneously highlighting it both as a field of knowledge and as an art form that can be cultivated creatively and effectively in distance learning contexts.
