A, B C, and D singing diversity: A Teaching Scenario for Music Lessons

Abstract

This teaching scenario is addressed to 6th grade students of elementary school, adopting the interdisciplinary approach and is compatible with the updated Music Curriculum for Elementary Education, as it involves the music lesson with the content of other subjects. Specifically, it involves the music lesson with the Language – Literature (Development of creative writing skills), Physical Education (Development of motor skills), and New Technologies (Familiarity with digital interactive applications - Cultivation of digital literacy). The purpose of the teaching scenario is to introduce students to the musical form of a modern song and at the same time to raise their awareness of the issue of human diversity and the importance of accepting it. In this context, the students with the vehicle of the popular at their age genre of rap music, and through the guided discussion and dialogue, are active and cultivate a climate of acceptance of the diversity of the other.
