Innovative Programs in the Greek Kindergarten: Implementing the Flipped Classroom in Combination with the 5E Model
Abstract
The implementation of innovative, student-centered pedagogical approaches in early childhood education, grounded in the principles of inquiry-based, experiential, playful, and collaborative learning, constitutes a critical pillar of 21st-century’s dynamic learning environments. Within this framework, the present study explores the potential of integrating the flipped classroom methodology with the 5E instructional model to foster and strengthen key skills and competencies in kindergarten settings, as outlined in the Greek Kindergarten Teacher’s Guide. Specifically, it examines the extent to which this combined pedagogical approach can enhance active participation, increase learning motivation, promote engagement, and substantially contribute to the cognitive development of young learners.
