Pedagogical challenges in applied distance school education during the pandemic era: reflections for the future

Δέσποινα Στύλα
Abstract

Reflection on the issues of planning and organizing distance school education was the reason for this secondary research/study and strongly sparked concern about the knowledge of the pedagogical difficulties of applied distance school education in the era of the pandemic (to be avoided in the future). Using the method of bibliographic review and content analysis (thematic analysis) of 67 primary studies, we aim to investigate the difficulties of a pedagogical nature faced by teachers (Primary and Secondary Education) during the pandemic during school distance learning. The results, according to the views of teachers who implemented distance learning during the pandemic, show that teachers faced pedagogical problems such as the design of distance learning, finding appropriate materials, time management, appropriate student assessment, lack of interaction and interpersonal relationships both between teachers and students and between students themselves. Finally, among the conclusions, a central position is occupied by the imperative need for teachers to receive further training in distance education issues (with the perspective of future readiness).
