Asynchronous digital discussions in the educational process

Abstract
Technology can enhance teaching and learning procedure if used in an appropriate way. A technology form which the educational society has given low importance is the area of online asynchronous discussions. Internet forums (fora) are also known as discussion boards or message boards. These areas permit to their users to interact, to exchange ideas, opinions and material based on a specific subject which in turn is in relation with the thematic area of the website. Learning through forums is an important educational tool. We search the educational-pedagogical capabilities of forums as well as the characteristics of a good online forum.
