E-tutor’s profile and his/her role in the Learning Process

Abstract
The subject of the survey was to investigate e-tutor’s profile in adult education projects and his/her contribution to the learning process. The objectives of the survey are, imprinting of the e-tutors’ profile in Greece, e-tutor’s contribution to the successful implementation of projects and registration of their training needs, as well as highlighting the relevant difficulties.
The survey was conducted through interviews with e-tutors. The results show that e-tutors undertake roles and develop skills, partly similar to those of conventional tutors. Nevertheless, the technological environment in which they function makes them differentiate their traditional roles and develop new skills to cope with the demands of e-learning.
