Abstract
One’s activity within a group of people largely depends on the quality of interpersonal relations and more concretely on one’s conception of good interpersonal relations, social, professional or other. The aim of this paper is twofold: it first aims to present the results of a research concerning the manner in which the concept of ‘friend’ is shaped within a community interior. Roughly speaking, ‘friends’ are considered those who have chosen and apply a common way of administering, handling and evaluating all information. The paper’s second aim is to investigate whether this way of conceiving interpersonal relations can be applied in an environment of open and distance learning.
