Abstract
The use of synchronous and asynchronous e-learning software is a major aspect of distance learning for today’s digital era. This paper investigates the pedagogic framework for employing such software and presents three sample implications that correspond to the logic of distance learning. The adaption of traditional teaching techniques to modern digital requirements and possibilities is pointed out, while some of the features of the software, along with their positive and negative aspects as compared to the assigned pedagogical fundament, are discussed. The paper concludes that the use of such software assists in e-learning procedures, as long as explicit specifications according to the specified pedagogic framework are adopted, while the need for the introduction of relevant methodologies in the framework of tertiary e-learning institutes is identified.
