Abstract

This paper refers to the educational use of ICT as an alternative tool by children with disabilities and special educational, mental and physical sensation needs. The papers ultimate goal is to mobilize the educational, social and political framework for off-institutionalization of special schools and the possibility of integrating children with disabilities into the wider society, equally as reflective and active learners and citizens. In this case study, pupils of a Special School use computer systems and learning environments, alternative theoretical and methodological approaches, always with an emancipatory cognitive interest, in the framework of a polymorphic SPECIAL OLYMPICS 2011 Educational Training Program.
