Abstract
The aim of the present study was to investigate the correlations between a) the overall self - directed learning readiness of the Greek Open University students with the overall satisfaction they received from the Greek Open University learning environment, b) the self- directed learning readiness with the satisfaction factors. One hundred undergraduate and postgraduate students participated voluntarily in the project. For the participant assessment used the scales: 1) SDLRS-NE: and 2) DELES. The control of correlations emerged: 1) relatively, high correlation of total self-directed learning readiness with the overall satisfaction, 2) low to moderate positive correlations between the factors of the two scales. The results showed us that the participants’ readiness for self-directed learning rises proportionately to the levels of satisfaction they receive from distance education and vice versa.
