Abstract
This article presents the online software named mathema and the format of the educational material it supports as well as the technologies it uses for interactivity, autonomy, control, reflection, personalized and self-directed learning, collaboration between students, etc. A detailed presentation of its theoretical foundations and functions is made. Special mention is made of his relevance to distance education and his contribution to it.
