The role of the teacher in educational robotics in distance education
Abstract
With the emergence of distance education in teaching, the landscape of education has undergone radical changes. As technology has concurrently advanced, new pathways and opportunities have been created for enriching education through innovative methods that enhance teaching. This article examines the evolving landscape of Educational Robotics in the context of distance education, specifically emphasizing the critical role of educators in guiding and facilitating high-quality educational experiences in remote robotic education.
Through an extensive literature review, this study explores the benefits and challenges associated with integrating Educational Robotics into distance education. It briefly surveys the platforms and tools that facilitate the implementation of Educational Robotics in distance education and investigates various pedagogical strategies and instructional designs that educators can utilize to maximize the effectiveness of Educational Robotics, considering the diverse learning needs and abilities of students. Furthermore, the importance of continuous professional development for educators to enhance their proficiency in remote pedagogical practices and technology utilization is emphasized.
