Researching the perceptions of music teachers on the implementation of the flipped classroom model in Secondary Education
Abstract
The flipped classroom model is a blended pedagogical teaching method that combines distance and face-to-face teaching. More specifically, the teaching of the educational material takes place online, in an asynchronous way, while the practical part is carried out in the classroom. The purpose of this research was to evaluate the impact of the possible application of this model on the teaching of music in Secondary Education. Initially, a literature review was carried out on research conducted in Greece and abroad regarding the application of the model in music education. Subsequently, a survey was conducted, which studied the opinions of music teachers regarding the benefits and drawbacks of implementing this model in music lessons. The study demonstrated the positive view of the participating teachers towards implementing the flipped classroom method in Secondary music education.
