Abstract

During the period of the pandemic, the uninterrupted operation of Distance Education was a bet for all Low and Upper High Schools in the country during the confinement phase, when access to the school was not possible. Distance Education made it possible, although not completely, and not equally for all students, to continue their educational teaching program for months when health protection conditions made it impossible for them to participate in a natural order. The subject of this article focuses on specific tools of the cloud services of the Panhellenic School Network which can work supportively in Distance Education conditions in a Secondary Education school unit. As a case study, we highlight the observance of the Electronic Book for students’ absence and the observance of the Electronic Books for Curriculum continuity, which is technically done in the same way. We describe feasible solutions compatible with the school environment and integrate their operation into specific online services, using exclusive tools offered by the Panhellenic School Network. Dealing with the specific technical solutions could be extended to other subjects or fields in the future, to reliably cover and organize the digital transformation in each school.
