Abstract

The importance of Web 2.0 applications in education, putting the student at the center of the educational process and actively involving him/her in it, is undisputed. In this paper, an attempt is made to investigate whether teachers have the knowledge and skills to use Web 2.0 applications, and whether both teachers and education executives (School Directors, Educational Project Coordinators and Level 2 trainers) have used Web 2.0 applications during the recent pandemic and will continue to do so after it. For this purpose, qualitative data obtained from thirteen interviews with five Primary School Teachers, three School Managers, three Educational Work Coordinators and two B Level Trainers were analysed. The results of the content analysis showed that: Teachers do not have enough knowledge and skills to use Web 2.0 applications. However, during the pandemic period, they used such applications. All categories of participants stated that they would continue to use Web 2.0 applications in their face-to-face teaching. Both Education Work Coordinators and B Level Trainers express doubts about whether teachers will use Web 2.0 applications in their lessons after the pandemic.
