Ελληνικά The interdisciplinarity of digital technologies and digital drama/theatre in education for sustainable development
Abstract
Education for sustainable development is an ideal solution to address serious environmental challenges that affect our planet and require students to cultivate ecological awareness in education. Theatre is an art form through which students can address various issues related to the environment and its protection. In recent years, the new conditions created due to the pandemic crisis have urged educators to apply digital technologies in drama production, highlighting the interdisciplinary coexistence of subjects in the educational field. This study aims to present a literature review on the integration of digital technologies in drama/theatre in education to develop students' ecological awareness of sustainability issues, following the research gap identified. The results are expected to influence a wide range of experts, including drama educators, researchers, theatre practitioners, art critics, stage designers, and educational policymakers to reflect on the potential benefits of introducing digital drama courses into formal curricula to raise students' awareness of critical sustainability and environmental issues.
