Distance education and vulnerable social groups: inequalities and challenges during COVID-19
Abstract
The use of new technologies in distance education serves the best possible communication of teachers with teachers and enables social interaction between them. The arrival of Covid-19 influenced how education in general and promoted the scientific and teaching community the importance of the distance education. A reasonable question is whether the new everyday life, as it was formed, and its new torque of distance education favored all social groups or if it excluded some of them. This work refers to distance education, UNESCO instructions, the educational programs of the Open University "The Open University" (OU) and the Hellenic Open University, and finally the inequalities and challenges facing vulnerable social groups due to of Covid-19.
