Abstract

This research deals with distance education as well as its contribution to the acquisition of digital skills among the employees of Greek banks. Its purpose is to illustrate the strengths and weaknesses of the application of e-learning in the banking sector through the capture of the two variables (expectation-experience) by checking the satisfaction of the employees who participated in the survey. For the implementation of the research, the quantitative method was followed using structured questionnaires of 25 questions. 104 employees in Greek banks participated in the survey by filling in the questionnaire form on Google Forms. Through the analysis of the results, the positive attitude of the employees towards e-learning programs as well as distance education in general emerged. Employees understand the importance of their education through the programs, the development of digital skills, the coverage of their necessary knowledge with the educational content, as well as the need to be sure of what they are asked to know. On the other hand, the necessity of more communication with the trainers is highlighted as well as the lack of direct feedback with the current form of the programs looking for more interaction and interaction.
