Creation of accreditation model for higher education institutions, organizations and curricula of distance learning

Abstract
In recent decades an intense competition has been developed between higher education institutions as well as in various educational institutions, that follow exclusively the model of Distance Education, or integrate it, in the operation and educational programs offered, which have the character of conventional education. As long as the distance education (hereinafter DE) sector is developed, the greater the complexity becomes, concerning both, the implementation and operation by various providers. Based on this fact, raises the need for the existence of criteria and accreditation standards on the programs of D.E., institutions and organizations, based on its special profile in the context of the existence of guarantees concerning the quality of education services.
The purpose of this article is to present the creation of an accreditation model, which relates exclusively to distance higher education institutes, to programs provided, or those who provide such education and vocational training. Initially, the literature review will precede, that includes the principles and quality assurance accreditation criteria, as defined by the Bologna Process and applied in Greece, in Europe, in USA, in Asian and African countries.
