Abstract
Hellenic Open University (HOU) is the only official Hellenic higher education Institution that offers programs of study for Adults using Open and Distance methodologies. According to the educational framework of HOU, the learning process combines distance learning and face-to-face live sessions (FFLSs). This framework can be considered as a Blended Learning Model where the face-to-face procedure has a great impact in the learning process. In order to achieve its real objectives, the proper and sufficient preparation and organization of the educational content of an FFLS by a Tutor, are considered as the two most crucial issues. In this paper, we propose a model for conducting FFLSs based on blended learning approaches that utilizing Information and Communications Technologies tools. Most of the proposed tools are available in Moodle, the Learning Management System adopted by HOU. Hence, the Tutors are able to organize the content of an FFLS in a more sound and accurate way. Moreover, this approach will increase the participation degree and collaboration between students before, during and after each FFLS.
