Abstract
Sustainable Development (SD) and Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) apply to Sustainable Tourism (ST) while emphasizing ESD ethics and practice, due to the importance of justice in dealing with the sustainability crisis, through Education for Sustainability Justice (ESJ). SD applications such as ST are necessary to enhance, preserve and promote the cultural heritage, where education with the contribution of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) will play a key role for the establishment of a Lifelong Learning environment. This study aims to bridge the gap between historical cultural resources and present time and to adopt strategies for preserving the cultural landscape through ESD and the holistic approach of socio-ecological systems, with the use of ICT tools, further proposing ST forms as a tool for development and protection. The framework of the study is the Minoan Path linking ancient Lyttos and Lassithi Plateau. The study focuses on narration as a research tool, and more specifically the life story interview, where SD's thematic approaches and concepts emerge with an inductive approach.
