Abstract

Video can be used in the distance learning/teaching Greek as a second/foreign language based on the principles of distance education and the communicative approach, in line with the current trends in online language learning and the use of new technologies in education. In this paper, a concise recording of this theroretical framework is followed by a thorough mapping of the contribution of video to the achievement of the corresponding pedagogical goals in terms of knowledge, skills and attitudes. The aim is to highlight and document -in theory, and with examples- the feasibility of the integration of video in the educational process as an element of innovation for the Greek educational reality concerning distance teaching Greek as a second/foreign language.
