Abstract
The difference of the educational staff role in Open Universities, which usually comes from conventional education, leads to the need of changes in existing conceptions. This paper aims to study the methodology of the educational staff development that could support and implement such changes. In these terms, we present two case studies concerning educational staff development in Open Universities of India and South Africa. Afterwards we present instructional design, development and evaluation of workshops after 30 years of implementation in staff development. The workshops dynamic could modify existing perceptions and attitudes
