Postgraduate Students’ Perceptions about MOOCs: Content Analysis of Forum Posts

Abstract
This paper explores the perceptions of postgraduate students at University of the Aegean regarding the use of MOOCs at non-formal educational level. Specifically, content analysis techniques were utilized to code students’ posts, during their participation in the e-learning community of the course, aiming to highlight the advantages and disadvantages of MOOCs based on students' personal perceptions, opinions, and experiences. The results are consistent with those of the literature, where the openness/flexibility of this educational arrangement is the most important advantage, and the high abandonment rate is the main disadvantage of MOOCs.
