“The Power of the Stage: Boal’s Theatre of the Oppressed as a Tool for Transformative Learning in Adult Distance Education"
Abstract
This study explores the role of art in education, with an emphasis on adult education and the use of Augusto Boal’s Theatre of the Oppressed. Beyond its aesthetic dimension, art functions as a means of expression, social communication, and both personal and social transformation. Through a theoretical review and methodological proposal, ways of applying artistic activities are presented to enhance learners’ critical thinking, collaboration, and social action within the context of distance education.
