Study of the Determinants of Students’ Participation in Distance Education
Abstract
The present paper is a study of the factors that affect learners’ participation and academic performance in distance education. It is a literature-based research that specifically investigates the social, economic, and technological factors influencing participation and academic achievement in distance education. An overview of existing studies is attempted, since in the Greek context research data are relatively limited and important issues arise that require further exploration. The study was guided by two (2) research questions, highlighting research gaps and proposing directions for future studies.
