Abstract
Distance learning in secondary education can have a significant impact on enhancing learning for sustainable development. This study examines the effectiveness of distance learning in enhancing learning for sustainable development in secondary education, focusing on private school students who participated in relevant programs. The views and experiences of 120 students who participated in programs related to environmental science and sustainability, such as environmental development programs, health education, and cultural programs offered by Secondary Education were examined. The six dimensions studied were: general expectations, quality of learning, teaching resources, pedagogical tools and assessment, competencies acquired by students in the field of sustainable development, satisfaction and interactions, as well as reasons for continuing their enrollment in similar programs. The research was based on quantitative data collected through a questionnaire. The findings show that distance education contributes to a satisfactory degree to the cultivation of skills and attitudes related to sustainable development, mainly at the level of environmental awareness and social responsibility. However, significant challenges were also identified, such as the lack of personal contact, understanding of the material and technical problems.
