Οφέλη, Προκλήσεις και Μελλοντικές Προοπτικές από τη χρήση των Ρομπότ Συζήτησης στην Εξ Αποστάσεως Εκπαίδευση: Μια Συστηματική Ανασκόπηση
Abstract
The rapid advancement of Artificial Intelligence has brought chatbots to the forefront of educational innovation, particularly within the context of distance learning. This article examines the role of chatbots in higher distance education by synthesizing recent literature (2020–2025). Through a systematic literature review, the study addresses five key research questions concerning their evolution, benefits, challenges, impact on interaction, and future prospects. The findings indicate that chatbots can provide continuous support, enhance students’ motivation and engagement, personalize the learning experience, reduce instructors’ administrative workload, and contribute positively to learning outcomes. However, significant challenges remain, including inaccurate or fabricated responses generated by large language models, issues of academic integrity, risks to privacy and data protection, potential biases, and the need for stronger pedagogical integration. Overall, the study concludes that while chatbots cannot replace human instructors, they can serve as valuable partners in distance education, provided their use is framed by pedagogical principles, institutional policies, and ethical guidelines.
