“Let’s talk about our habits -They reflect the culture!” A school network through eTwinning.
Abstract
The present paper presents a teaching proposal that was implemented within the framework of the European program eTwinning with the title “My months, my habits”. The program focused on intercultural communication and the cooperation of the students from cities of Greece and other European countries through the English language. They exchanged information about their habits and customs online, while simultaneously developing skills in the English language, the technology and cooperative learning. The paper presents the goals, the methodology, the implementation phases, the tools that were used as well as the outcomes that were recorded. The emphasis is on the contribution of the program to develop the skills of the students that are needed in the modern world. The importance of experiential learning and the active participation of students in education networks is highlighted. The findings may serve as a starting point for further pedagogical practices that promote openness and multiculturalism in education.
