“Accompanying Pericles in the Ancient Agora”: an educational program for students of ODL based on “field trip” and applications of ICT

Abstract

Is it possible for an adult with particular interest for Ancient Greek History to travel to the Past and experience History “in situ”, in the Ancient Agora of Athens, for example, together with Pericles? How such an experience can attribute in level of knowledge and dexterities? Seeking the answer and trying to offer an extra chance to adults, that try to become familiar with History and the Greek Culture, in the context of the “Studies of the Civilization” of the Hellenic Open University the educational program “Accompanying Pericles in the Ancient Agora”, that was based on “field trip” and the exploitation of New Technologies, was drawn and materialized.
