Οpen and distance learning in secondary education on the international level. Factors which influence realization of the ideal of open education.
Abstract
In this dissertation we explore open and distance learning in secondary education on the international level, as well as those factors which influence realization of the ideal of open education. The criteria of openness, as laid down by theorists of open education, provided the theoretical foundation of the dissertation, and then the object of our research, as we attempted to ascertain whether the said criteria have been adopted by schools. The dissertation is a descriptive and exploratory study, qualitative in nature and its specific purpose is to compare the way different schools function in relation to the dimensions of openness
