Progressive Education and Individual Electronic Learning: Dalton Plan and Distance Education. A comparative approach

Abstract
This paper aims to analyze two teaching methods, whose genesis touches in the late 19th century to the early 20th century. The two teaching methods is the face to face teaching system Dalton Plan and distance education. The aim of this study was to conduct a comparative view of two teaching methods and answer the following questions. The questions that occupied using this paper is: What are the key features and basic principles governing these teaching methods and what is their relationship with new technologies and more specifically with the online personalized learning? How two teaching methods with different approach (one in person and another distance) can converge in many places? How a traditional face to face teaching method as the Dalton Plan can with the use of new technologies become more innovative and pedagogically usable by this e-learning at a distance?
