Abstract
In this paper we present the adaptive educational hypermedia environment INSPIREus which is the latest version of INSPIRE, extended with collaborative functionalities and a flexible authoring process allowing users to reflect their pedagogical perspective on content development. In INSPIREus users comprise an online community, having one or more roles with different rights, such as learners, tutors, authors, reviewers. Learners can work individually or participate in specific virtual classes created by instructors, attend online lessons at their pace, participate in groups, personalize interaction, and view their interaction analysis data and patterns. Adaptive content authoring is approached as an opportunity for learners to cultivate skills for designing e-learning content, by promoting reflection on learning design issues such as the importance of learning activities in actively engaging students, or the need to provide a learning workflow to support effective learning.
