Abstract

Supplementary education is one of the most significant parameters of the implementation of programmes concerning distance learning in elementary and secondary schools. The design and implementation of a printed educational material titled: “Substantial   Development and Renewable Sources of Energy” is the main subject analyzed in this pepaer. The particular educational material is addressed to students of the last two grades of elementary school and its aim is to raise children’s awareness about environmental problems. Also, it is designed to cultivate students’ analytical and critical thinking, to promote their social and cultural right judgments of the rising environmental issues and to encourage them to take active involvement in reducing the hazards affecting our planet.
