Abstract

This work presents the application of a simple collaborative script, implemented on a modified version of the popular Moodle LMS, called VLE-Moodle. In the case study, 22 students of the Greek Vocational School were engaged in a collaborative learning activity, following the script guidelines, in order to develop a Website for their school. The evaluation carried after the completion of the activity, provide research evidence that simple collaborative scripts can be successfully implemented in real educational settings and thus providing a flexible and efficient method of teaching Informatics courses. Moreover, the proposed VLE-Moodle e-learning LMS could be considered as a useful tool facilitating the implementation of Computer-Supported Collaborative Learning (CSCL) scripts. Nevertheless, certain improvements could further enhance the potential of both the script and the VLE-Moodle LMS.
