Students support from tutors and peer students in distance learning. Views of graduates of the postgraduate program “Studies in Education” of the Hellenic Open University

Abstract

In this survey the perceptions of graduates of postgraduate program “Studies in Education” for the support from tutors and fellow students were investigated, as they were shaped by their studies in the Hellenic Open University. It was an ex post facto survey conducted with a questionnaire with open and closed ended questions constructed specifically for the study. The results showed that the graduates were satisfied with the support that tutors offered to them and pointed out parameters in which their role can be improved. It was also fount that the fellow students also supported the graduates in their studies with the creation of a coordinating and common climate as well as with the development of friendly and social relations between them.
