Abstract
The widespread use of new technologies, as well as distance learning, have given a great boost and a different dimension to the effort of communication and cooperation between schools around the world, both for students and for their teachers. Greece along with other European countries participates in a two year Erasmus+ program aiming at the effective use of ICT in the classroom. Using data from the 4th Rafina primary school, which represents Greece in this program, we show that the program has multiple benefits for both students and teachers involved. Those involved get acquainted with other cultures, get to know different countries and their civilization, their education systems, strengthen their technological, social and linguistic skills and develop their European identity.
