Abstract
Training for civil servants is a priority for any government as long as the efficient work of public officials is expected to produce significant results in the implementation of governmental work. The training of civil servants on issues that relate to their duties and job description must meet quality standards as they are recorded in a structured Instructional plan which each public service is asked to elaborate, implement and evaluate. The qualitative preparation of the appropriate training programs and their subsequent implementation depends to a great extent also on the systematic cooperation between the Education Departments of the public services and the National Center for Public Administration and Local Government as the nationally recognized Body of training of civil servants that is responsible for the development of public administration personnel. The documentation of the offered trainings, the monitoring of their implementation in order to meticulously follow the quality standards set by the Instruction plan and the continuous evaluation of the impact of the training will generate even more spectacular results to the civil servants training program and its outcome. Moreover, the possibility of improving the current cooperation between the central training pillar and the decentralized training bodies will give even better results for an efficient and effective approach of the human factor to the Greek public administration.
