Abstract

This paper describes the development and evaluation of teaching material on the lotus effect. The purpose was to mitigate Plant Blindness of Primary Education students. The teaching material was implemented to 29 students of the 5th and 6th grades of an urban primary school. The results showed that the students of both grades recognized the value of plants, and explained the lotus effect on natural and artificial products by using terms of Nanoscience-Nanotechnology. However, it was shown that only 6th-grade students were able to observe plants around them more often.
