Abstract

This paper is based on a recent study of a sample of 188 undergraduate students from the Faculty of Education Sciences at the University of Ioannina, aged 18-24, regarding young people's perceptions of certain Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) set by the United Nations. We examine a group of goals related to the environment: clean water and sanitation, affordable and clean energy, climate action, life below water, and life on land. The respondents place greater importance on socio-economic goals, while environmental goals are ranked lower. It is found that young people more familiar with the 17Goals are more active. In conclusion, there is an urgent need for further awareness and education regarding the 17Goals to take immediate action.
