Abstract

The present work describes the European research project “Fedoras Academy,” which aims to establish both local and European networks of STEM teachers, promoting interdisciplinary collaboration and the principles of open schooling. These networks aim at the professional development of STEM teachers along two main axes: a) the elaboration and redesign of innovative teaching materials for advanced -STEM topics, guided by interdisciplinarity and sustainability competencies – such as future -oriented thinking and action-taking – and b) the development of assessment tools for fostering such competences. The pilot implementation of the teaching materials and assessment tools, the reflective processes concerning their implementation as well as teachers’ mobility activities, are expected to enhance the exchange of good practices among teachers while also to foster the development sustainability values.
