Abstract
Climate change is a global crisis with severe environmental, social, and economic consequences, making the reduction of emissions and the transition to sustainable practices imperative. Education plays a crucial role by cultivating climate change competences in students. Interdisciplinary STEM and socio-scientific approaches are proposed as appropriate teaching methods, although many teachers report feeling inadequately prepared. This symposium focuses on promoting climate change education, emphasizing both the proper preparation and professional development of current and future educators, as well as the education and active engagement of students in taking climate action.
