A teaching proposal: Virtual museum using digital storytelling for Science teaching
Abstract
This paper proposes a teaching method that includes the creation, by students, of virtual museums presenting experimental procedures at Science. During the creation of virtual museums, the method of digital storytelling was applied. The specific teaching proposal was created and implemented in the context of an Erasmus KA2+ European program, with the participation of 70 students, aged 14 to 16, from four different countries (Spain, Lithuania, Greece and Italy). The aim was the comprehension of scientific way of thinking while acquiring digital skills. In the first phase, students performed experiments either in the school laboratory or in the field. In the second phase, virtual museums were created presenting the experiments. Taking into consideration students’ and teachers’ responses at questionnaires and rubrics became clear that the use of this method helped in understanding the experimental process.
