Abstract

Sivitanidios, since its erection (1927) as a public benefit Institution of Technological Training according to the European Standards, has created new educational paths of research and innovation in vocational training. For almost a century, until nowadays, it constitutes one of the most important centers areas of training in our country, linking successfully education and job market. In this essay, entitled “Sivitanidios Public Arts and Crafts School, a model institution of lifelong learning, education and vocational training in connection with the job market”, we focus on the necessity of lifelong learning in the contemporary, demanding and globalized environment. Lifelong learning aims at the basic principles of quality and equality in education and making them accessible to all citizens, in the way of creating equal educational opportunities, for every active member of our society. In particular, this essay, underlines the interest of Sivitanidios Institution, on the importance of connecting training and job market needs, highlighting the methods used to achieve the above.
