Abstract

 The knowledge and skills that employees of the organizations in which they work are an important asset. However, this chapter is not concentrated and diffuses neither on the organization itself nor on the wider community. The purpose of the work is to present the value of knowledge management in general and in particular in the public sector and education. This work attempts to provide information on the value of knowledge management and its effective implementation. The contribution of knowledge management to the restructuring of the public sector is particularly important. It is an element of increasing importance for government administrations in relation to the challenges posed by the knowledge economy. The work begins with an overview of the international bibliography mainly and Greek. The conclusions highlight the important advantages of knowledge management in general and in particular in the public and private sectors.
