Abstract

 

 The present study attempts to approach the quality of schools of Primary Education of Central Athens namely the Municipalities of Ilioupoli, Byron, Dafni-Ymittos during the school year 2015-2016. Particular emphasis was given in terms of efficiency in the economic dimension of quality concept. Used quality indicators derived from international organizations, European and from the research of the Pedagogical Institute for Quality in Education. Such is not limited those relating to the size of schools, number of students per class, total number of students per school, etc. With the help of econometrics the perfect size of schools was approached concerning the number of students in relation to the optimal total annual public expenditure in the classic curriculum schools and Single Reformed Educational Program (S.R.E.P.). Indicative found results showing a negative correlation to the size of schools with the total annual public expenditure per student.
