Abstract

Nowadays, in the era of New Technologies, where the traditional type of museum education is a formal, impersonal and one-dimensional process, often outdated and boring in the consciousness of the visitor, museums increasingly turn to the services provided by digital media, in order to exploit multimedia applications, both in the management and documentation of their collections, as well as in their educational policy and communication techniques. This essay attempts to approach the museum policy of implementing New Technologies as a tool for informal education in contemporary Museums -Forums as well as exploring and recording museum educational practices and multimedia devices that serve to create an interactive and attractive environment participatory for the visitor, who is transformed from a simple and passive viewer into an active subject of a dialectical and two-way relationship with the museums exhibits.
