Abstract

The paper hereby aims at identifying good practices for Vocational Education and Training (VET) and its forms that include Work-Based Learning (WBL) methods in Initial and Continuing Vocational Education and Training. Using good practices from European countries and taking into account the present situation and needs of VET in Greece, incentives and initiatives are to be undertaken by the state, businesses and individuals so that methods using Work based Learning are to be promoted and enhanced. Significant actions in this direction are the implementation of a quality framework for WBL, both in formal and non-formal education, funding programs involving WBL on terms and conditions, as well as examining a different approach to the system of governing VET, with greater and more effective involvement of the social partners.
