Abstract

Small and medium enterprises are considered to be one of the most important parts of the economies and societies, as they account for more than 90% of all global businesses and more than 63% of the total workforce. This arithmetic superiority creates the need for further research and study of these enterprises in all sectors. This paper discusses the relationship of SMEs with the ERP & CRM information systems and examines whether these systems can be used by SMEs as they are designed to meet the needs of large enterprises. During the elaboration of the present master’s thesis, a survey was carried out on the SMEs of the prefecture of Thessaloniki aiming at recording the enterprises relationship with the IS and identifying the benefits that enterprises derive from their use, the difficulties they encountered in their adoption and finally the reasons why some businesses do not have IS.
